The primary responsibility of the Highway Department is road and bridge maintenance including signing, graveling, paving, drainage, snow removal, bridge & culvert repair, etc. Prepare the department’s annual budget. Track & record all construction, maintenance and equipment costs. Prepare the annual One & Six Year Road & Bridge Project Reports and the annual Equipment & Material Inventory and the Equipment Operation Cost Reports to the Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classifications & Standards. Bridge inspections are performed and reported annually to the Nebraska Department of Roads, Bridge Division.
